US and Canadian officials have signed an amended Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement that commits the two countries to action on current challenges while also expanding the list of issues to be addressed.
Signed by
New to the agreement, first signed in 1972, are objectives to address climate change impacts and to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species and further loss of habitat and species.
